To my beloved

You have been with me forever

Though I have not always known you were so

You touch me now and I know it

Caressing me in the ways I sought

By those who walked with your hair and gait

Can this really be happening to me?

To find what I sought for so long

as I drove the familiar streets of my life

I'll have no more harsh judgments

for what I yearned for as you

And careful cadence

That haunts me

Like no other could

Must I not know you in form,

Only in my being?

Must I no longer search for you in the world,

for you live in my heart?

As you lay beside me,

I now know what it is to be loved

That is all but what I can't be

You see the good in me and let it shine through in your praising eyes

My lingam knows you as well

Creeping from my heart down below

I find you stepping into those dark places

Of my soul and turning on the light

With fervor and joy

Subtract all the gooey new-age metaphors
